We worked with The Living and Airbus to produce this promo video for their new generative-design initiative. Inspired by the growth of slime molds and other organic life, The Living helped design more efficient structural elements for Airbus, saving weight and fuel while actually increasing their strength. We were given footage from The Living of their design team experimenting with 3D printed structures, as well as detailed CAD models of a section of the aircraft cabin that they iterated on. All motion animation, motion graphics, and editing were done by us at Brooklyn Digital Foundry.
I worked on several elements in this project as a junior artist, including the opening shot, animation for the slime mold, the "3D Printing" particle sim, and the aircraft re-assembly.
