The Project:
We worked with Lincoln Center on a massive set of images for their transformation of Damrosch Park, which opens up the area to the two neighboring roads and provides a massive new ampitheater for events. A series of small parks, fountains, and paths also permeate the new project, giving the community easier access to Lincoln Center itself as well as a place to visit and relax. Many of the images produced were for internal use, showcasing potential donor opportunities for discussion, but the set included here were for publication. We worked with both Lincoln Center as well as the architects (Weiss Manfredi) and landscape architects (Hood Design) to ensure that everything would be represented as accurately as possible. We fielded model and finish revisions throughout the project, as the design teams iterated on their work with Lincoln Center.
My Role:
While this project was ongoing for nearly a year, and involved almost everyone on our production team, I was the lead artist for this final set of public images. I worked on them from model cleanup all the way through post production, curating shaders, lighting and planting, and fine-tuning details with the team at Weiss Manfredi to ensure that they best represented the project. Backgrounds were matte painted using site photography we acquired earlier in the year, and accurately reflect the surroundings in Manhattan.
