We produced a competition entry for REDACTED to help showcase their plan for a new marina and resort. Due to the timeline of the competition, we were given a very bare-bones 3D model to work with and had to embellish it with detailed landscapes and set dressing. We also fielded several comprehensive model updates throughout the 1-month-long production, requiring a production pipeline flexible enough to allow this without losing our progress with planting. For the surrounding landscape, we sourced satellite topographic data and enhanced it with Gaia to achieve a high level of fidelity and to capture the impressive mountain features near the site.
I was one of several production artists on this project, in charge of lighting and compositing most of the shots. I also developed the shaders for the man-made structures to help add richness to the otherwise simple 3D model, detailed the marina floor, and set up the vegetation scatters across the ground-level of the site.
